Privacy Policy — Text-First Scriptural Exegesis

Effective date: October 9, 2026

Text-First Scriptural Exegesis is an independently developed, skills-only scripture-study plugin used within ChatGPT. This policy describes the personal information handled by the plugin developer. It does not replace the privacy policies of OpenAI or other services you choose to use.

1. Information collected

Through the plugin: The plugin does not operate a separate developer-hosted server, require a developer account, or independently collect, receive, or store your ChatGPT conversations, prompts, or account information. The developer does not add analytics, advertising trackers, or behavioral-profiling tools to the plugin.

When you contact support: If you email the developer, the developer receives your email address, any name displayed in your email, and the content or attachments you voluntarily provide. You do not need to contact the developer to use the plugin.

Please do not send passwords, API keys, payment-card details, government identification numbers, health records, or other sensitive personal information in support emails.

2. How information is used

Support emails are used to answer questions, address plugin issues, handle privacy requests, and maintain necessary records of those communications. Support information is not sold or used for advertising or behavioral profiling.

3. Who receives information

The developer may disclose support correspondence if legally required. The developer does not otherwise share support correspondence with advertisers or data brokers.

4. Retention and deletion

The developer normally deletes support correspondence within 90 days after the inquiry is resolved. An unresolved inquiry may be retained while it remains open. Information may be retained longer only where reasonably necessary to meet legal obligations or establish, exercise, or defend legal claims, and will be deleted when that need ends.

To request access to or deletion of support correspondence held by the developer, email textfirstscripturalexegesis@gmail.com. Requests will be reviewed and handled within a reasonable time, subject to any applicable legal retention requirements.

The developer does not control OpenAI’s, Google’s, GitHub’s, or linked websites’ independent retention practices. Requests concerning ChatGPT conversation data should be made through OpenAI’s account and privacy controls.

5. Your choices and controls

You may use the plugin without emailing the developer. You may choose not to provide personal information in a support request, except for the contact details necessary for a reply. You may request deletion of developer-held support emails as explained above, and you can manage ChatGPT data using OpenAI’s privacy controls.

6. Changes to this policy

If the plugin’s data-handling practices change, this policy will be revised and the updated version posted at this same URL with a new effective date.
